A diagnostic medical ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to image a variety of anatomy. GE's Logiq 9 and Logiq 7 give multi-dimensional imaging which is primarily used for, but not limited to, the heart, major blood vessels, abdomen, pelvis, breast, thyroid, and for fetal evaluation. Ultrasound is also used to visually guide a physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. We have taken the time to create a calm, dimly lit, environment to help relax the patient during the biopsy procedure. A biopsy is a procedure in which a radiologist uses a special sampling device (needle) to extract small tissue samples from the patient for microscopic evaluation. A biopsy may be necessary to determine if an area felt by a patient or found on an imaging study is malignant (cancerous) or benign (non-cancerous). You will receive more specific information from one of our nurses on your biopsy procedure. Radiologists use mammography for the purpose of locating potentially cancerous breast tumors that are too small to be felt. Annual exams are recommended for all women forty or older (including those with implants). Your first mammogram, considered a baseline, is used to make future comparisons. What makes us different is our Full Field Digital Mammography. There is no waiting for film to be developed. Images are reviewed immediately, and in most cases, you receive your results at the time of your mammogram. Make your appointment today - 941.235.4645 |
